evertime i renew, i get an extra mag for about 2 months. then its one per month until i renew in about 3 months.

i just ebay the extras

Got a call last night, supposedly from Maxim magazine. The guy tells me that they're going to raise the subscription renewal rate (geez, they've been doing that for the past 3 years now, haven't they?? 😉 ), but they're giving me the chance to renew now at the old rate....blah, blah, blah.

I was cool about it, though, and told the guy I didn't want to waste his time, and could he answer one quick question for me? Sure. I asked him if he had information there telling him when a person's subscription expires. No, they don't get that info. I told him that I had just gotten my Maxim magazine, and was looking at the address label on it, where it said when my subscription expired. Okay......

I told him my expiration date was MAR23......and that that meant that my subscription did not expire until March of 2023. The other end of the phone call got VERY quiet, and then, with a touch of awe in his voice, he asked me, "How did you get it that long???" :laugh:

I told him, "Free subscriptions", wished him a good night, and hung up the phone. 😀

I just got my free Maxim the other day. I don't remember when I applied for it. I got both the July and September issues, but no August issue. So weird.

Mine are something like that too... well, now 1 year more.. (as long as it accepts me without the #'s from the label. I don't have any mags handy)

Worked for me, thanks.... Maxim is now paid till May 2011 and Stuff till MAR 2012.

Bah. How do I get them to stop sending me Stuff?

My free year ran out over 6 months ago...they sent me plenty of "last notice" and "renew now" notices...and they keep sending me the magazine. They get so much from advertising that they just don't want to lose any subs.

Does anyone know how to let them know that you've shifted? I've had my post office forward mail to my new address but I think they only do it for 60 days for magazines.
