Free mass file renaming program suggestions

Anyone have any freeware renaming programs they recommend?

I have tried quite a few file renamer and none so far can do what MRename can do. It has a little bit of a learning curve, but it'll become a very powerful tool once you get a hang of it.

I'm very comfortable in Perl, but (especially in Windows) I use a dedicated tool with a GUI (RenameMaster) for this kind of task. It's faster, easier, and safer (it provides a preview of the files it will alter and what their new filenames would be).
