Since you seem to be lumping them all into the same category, then YES.

Do I need to re-explain what I meant? I meant poor people as a whole, whether or not certain specific families are spending money on these things, need to spend less on them. I just want the figures to read 0% of poor families spend money on alcohol, cigarettes, cable/satellite TV, Cars, and gambling. That's what I mean.

Got any stats to show how many "poor" people spend money on such items and how much since you think a majority of them do? Maybe they do...maybe they don't?

actually, you should because you're making a generalization regardless, with not an ounce of proof to back it up.

What's more, there are two people participating in this very thread who have testified to as much... that their parents were on public assistance and were not spending money on cable TV and booze. This very thread contradicts BN's generalization.

It's so tough to argue politics on message boards when every second you have to turn around and re-explain what you mean because everything I say is taken out of context.

How in the fvck is it free when the schools are paid BY MY TAXES ..

Exactly which is why I find it wrong that it costs anything. Most schools actually charge anywhere from $1 to $3 for lunch.

Kids that can't come up with the money are given a "special" card.

yes lunches and breakfast should be free. They should also be nutritous and low in fat. Schools should not be allowed to sell soda or candy - or have vending machines that do.
