Block Buster is giving free DVD or VHS of Lord of the Rings with purchase of ten weeks rental card, which is around $25. Better Hurry as its while supplies last and offer expires on 8/5/2002.

I'm going to take a wild stab here and say that you buy the $25 value card for $25 and then they give you the DVD without charging you. Something for nothing = "free" Just a guess.

Old news...buy a card for $25 that is good for 10 rentals (hot!), and get LOTR for free (even hotter!).

To bad all the Blockbusters in my area quit this one a long time ago...:(

I understand how the promotion works, sherlock. My point was that it's not "something for nothing" if you've given them $25.

If you're looking to purchase their 10-week card anyway, then it's a good deal. But for anyone who wants to simply get a free lord of the rings DVD, as the title suggests, you can't do it here.

Okay, maybe it should be "Buy LOTR and get 10 rentals free!". Either way its a hot deal, 10 rentals (up to $5 each) and a DVD worth $25 or so...A $75 value for $25 is hot to me!

I know this was posted in a similar thread, but just a reminder, if you want LOTR without having to purchase anything, you can get it for free by test driving a KIA. As Ben from bensbargains would say, "drive like you stole it."
