Free language programs/sites?

I was curious if you all know of any good free software programs or websites that are out there to learn foreign languages? Ideally Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, or Russian. Also preferably to not only teach you to speak the language, but be able to read/write. Something easy to use like a flash progarm. Debate into the why they are the best ones is encouraged. 😕
