Hey all!

Finally, my first hot deal! Hope no one beat me to this one...

CompUSA has 128MB PC133 sticks of their own RAM, made by Samsung, for free after two rebates! The price of the RAM is $40.00, then there's an instant $20.00 rebate, as well as a mail-in for an extra $20.00 off! To give credit where credit's due, my friend Riley actually found it on his lunch break. He discovered it in the store when he was shopping.

I looked on their site, but didn't see any mention of it, but I saw his with my own two eyes, so it's gotta be legit! He said that the deal started today...I'm gonna venture out to CompUSA in Highland Park, IL tomorrow to get some until I get my order in for my 512MB stick of crucial. :)

I don't know how good CompUSA RAM is exactly, we're testing it out in his personally built PC and in my 867MHz G4 tower later. Anyone have any experience with this RAM? Can't complain too much for the price! ;)

Big time repost. Easy to find in Sunday's circular which was broadcast here a week ago maybe... Good luck getting the ram today. They were sold out within 3 hours where I live.

Heres an even better deal. They have free ram at best buy after MIR. But your initial cost is 25$! You have to buy a digital camera, or so the ad says. Maybe you can luck out like I did and find an ignorant cashier. Someone didn't show up for work and they were swamped and I looked behind the counter and saw ram FREE?! I asked him if that was free after rebate and he said yes, got it out, handed it to me and rung it up! I went home and noticed the name of the rebate was free ram with digital camera. They cant tell cuz the rebate receipt doesnt need the camera on it as best buy rebates include rebate receipts for just the rebated item! Now thats a dea.

Scores from yesterday:
25$ 128MB Ram -25$MIR = Free at Best Buy
Headset, surge protector, electronic dictionary, 48 cd sleve wallet, 5 cdrw, mouse pad, 20 AA batteries, all Free after MIR from Circuit City (well, batteries end up being .99c)
2 300Va UPS from Staples, got 1 for 60$ - 10$ off 40$ and 50$ MIR = Free and the other one just got 50$mir so it averages out to 5$ per UPS!

All in all, it was a good day. After rebate it will total 11$ + sales tax. Not bad.

What $10 off $40 at Staples? Is this the one you got in the mail or a printable one? I have not seen a printable $10 off $40 since July.

This just doesn't sound quite right to me. Do they have one specific type of RAM that they will only sell you if you're buying a digital camera? Are you sure that you do not need to provide any proof that you bought the digicam at the same time? Certainly with other stores you have to do this (and yes, I saw what you wrote about Best Buy and their rebate forms).

Okay enough bs. The ram at compusa was $20 -$20 rebate. How a $25 -$25 rebate with a little fraud thrown in is a better deal, I'll never know.

MODS KILL THIS THREAD!

I was afraid that my local CompUSA would be out of ram, but lucked out and picked up two sticks ths afternoon. I was planning on getting it Saturday, then PM-ing it later this week. My local CompUSA is usually sold out whenever they have deals like this - the only way for me to be there when the door opens on sunday morning is to skip church - not a very good excuse.

I decided to stop by and exchange a birthday gift, and lo and behold, they had at least 10 packages in the lock up case. Even if I can't get both rebates, $20 for 2 sticks is a HOT DEAL IMHO.

pogo :p

BTW, Go3iverson
yes, this is a repost - you might want to look for the posts by HawkeyeNJ to get all of the Sunday ad circulars - S/He and friends are able to post then early for our benefit, Thanks!!!

Hey Guys,

Sorry, I didn't realize that it was a repost. I gave the forums a quick scour before I submitted it...I hadn't seen the thread until today. My bad. For your info, though, Highland Park, IL still had the RAM in stock.

Atleast I can help anyone if they're in the area and were looking for the RAM.

Wow, mikeleejr, seemed like you lucked out pretty big....I agree though, 20-20 rebate is a better deal than 25-25 with fraud...
