While we could spend allot of time arguing about how FOSTA is affecting the internet by targeting website owners for transgressions of the users, the purpose of this thread is to reach out to the community and offer an alternative path. FOSTA is regulating US based websites, hence in response to craigs list removing their personal ads several non-us based websites spawned up. I am personally rooting for doublelist, because i think it has the best chance to succeed at replacing craigs list personals. However the purpose of this post is to reach out to the community and ask you to offer your help to any non-US based website that is trying to fill the void left by craigs list and other sites that shut down as a result of FOSTA.
When politicians begin to regulate information exchange the end of democracy is in sight. Let's help these new sites succeed and show to the world that no single country can or should try to regulate the internet the way that the FOSTA is trying to.
First NetNeutrality, now FOSTA, all these bills are attempts to regulate the data flow and enable the propaganda machine. Propaganda is ineffective in a well informed society of free thinkers.
