Good deal😀

the poster is very neat, the graphic did a good job (nice composition and ballance).

But i still think that "e pluribus unum" (one from many) is more fitting as a national motto. The in god we trust is more or less a relic from cold war era.

The "In God We Trust," motto, scribbled all over our currency, public buildings, etc., is an absolute abomination to the so-called "separation of church and state" and an alleged nondenominational government. I am appalled by this post.

Whether or not it is, that has nothing to do with this being a hot deal or not. Don't crap the thread and get it locked just because you have a different view point then someone else; take it to off topic if you want to.

Not to start a war, but do some research into your history, buddy. "Separation of church and state" was written in the constitution for one reason: to prevent the government from forcing people to worship any one particular religion. America was started as a haven for all those religiously persecuted by government forced religions. In the words of Thomas Jefferson, the "separation of church and state" means: "That no man ought to suffer in name, person, or effects on account of his religious Opinions"

Simply put, it is illegal for anyone to persecute you for what you believe. That's what "separation of church and state" means.

the in God we Trust phrase was ordered to be put on every piece of money when Abe Lincoln said to
back in the Civil War days
To do anything with the phrase would be going against what Abraham Lincoln did and would cause havok
That phrase is a reminder as to the horrors that we faced in the Civil War and all the work needed to bring
the country back after the War.
Sometimes there are things that are beyond our power.
Sometimes we are forced to acknowledge something ... greater than us, to at least hope, if not pray to.
Whether its God or fate or the almighty cosmic fish...
There is much relief when u think there is someone watching out for u.
and besides... u dont have to buy the poster... just cuz its free dont mean u have to take it

While I agree with what you say, it is not accurate. "separation of church and state" is NOT constitutional. Read it end to end, you won't find. You'll only find an amendment that frobids congress to 'establish a religion or limit the exercise thereof' (paraphrase). Given that context it actually adds to what you had to say. God, Religion, Christianity and this country were meant to go hand in hand. I forget who, but one of the founding fathers actually believed the Bible was the most important text book a school could have. Now if he intended the Constitution to be interpreted the way it has, he would have made it a bit more clear.

Anywhoo, I find it funny that all sides of the issues frequently don't know that "separation of church and state" NEVER is found in the constitution.

And if you do not like someones religious/athesist thread ignore it and move along this is not "Off Topic" go there to express your religious thoughts. heck do a search there is plenty to rekindle.

Right, because the residents of their former homeland were sick of the bible-thumping and puritanical beliefs just as much as we are now in the 21st century.

I'm also a bit disturbed by how the poster depicts an American bald eagle on the same poster as "In God We Trust," which somehow associates patriotism with a belief in God. In fact, the word "God" all over over currency, courthouses, city halls, etc., seems to imply that there is no place for other religious belief systems, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, etc. I have yet to see "In Vishnu We Trust" inscribed on any coins. By sending for this poster, you are fostering the notion that this is nation for Christians. I believe that makes it a cold deal, and I would like to express that opinion. Thank you.

I'm an Atheist, and I say thanks for the hot deal. That is a cool poster.

As for the rest crapping and starting flame wars, grow the eff up :|

If we continue banning personal freedoms like we are doing now, soon we will reach a state of government policing where the entire world will have to fight us like they fought Nazi Germany.
One more thing ... let's keep god where it belongs, in your private homes and worship places.
