Every voice chat that's been around for years is "voip" in the sense of voice over IP transmission. I don't see what makes this any different than any other IM's voice feature, if it's only peer to peer.

www.voipbuster.com is the only place I know of right now for FREE voip (as in calling someone's actual phone).

How do you add buddies in gaim? I did 'Add buddy', but i think i am doing it wrong. The buddy comes up as 'not authorized'.

The google client has some easter eggs:

And here is take on what google *might* end up doing:

The epic vid is great, I used it for a business class last semester, you guys should really check it out. It's part fiction and part truth, but a very possible scenario.

As I said in the other thread on this... I have been using Skype for a good while. Any idea if this uses less resources than Skype? I have been very happy with Skype, and really just a smaller footprint while keeping all the same services would be only thing to move me from it at this point in time.

As for Google buying Skype... 3Bil sounds like an awful lot.

AOL did this in AIM... Yahoo! did this in Yahoo Messenger... Microsoft did this in MSN *and* NetMeeting... how is this revolutionary?

I read all your email, so why shouldn't google? 😉
(I like that shirt that says "I read your email")

Sweet Video, man I wish I were creative!
(any way to save that video other than video stream rippers?)

yeah I read in wall street journal that they were being funny with the amount of shares they sold and the financial amount they planned to generate. they used the remainder of "pie" 2.~ and some other mathematical symbol I think n

but they raised alot of money

do any of these voip programs run much better than teamspeak? even on a 100Mb/s lan, i get about a 2 sec delay with teamspeak. are any of these just like a phone? if so which ones allow for groups so i could use them instead of teamspeak and get rid of the annoying lag?

2 seconds... wow, I actually get about a 0.5 to 1 second delay. Running the same experiment with my sister across the country, we get the same delay over out cell phone.

RE:"Skype is asking for $3 Billion so doubt Google will buy it. "

I think Googles going on their own or was that Yahoo...

I use voipbuster to call phones. Works great with a headset.
