Why is John Doe stupid. If someone is dumb enough to think the voting age in the U.S. is 21 they should get flamed all day.

Ben88, john_doe is being just plain rude. I have no problem with someone pointing out a mistake in a post, but calling someone a "..Stupid moron.." or a "..dumb f**k.." isn't called for.

btw: What is the point of the edit function of this board if you can't fix your mistakes? Isn't that what it is for?

Excellent post Jugernot. Ben88: People make typo.s. Fact of life. Pointing it out to someone is fine. Insults and personal attacks are uncalled for...especially where the party making the insults makes typo.s.

I have to applaud the generally constructive criticism of john_doe's uncalled for posts. Unfortunately, I tend to think people that make those kinds of comments are not the kind of people likely to benefit from constructive criticism. Basically, if some kid gets a kick out of insulting people, just don't take it personally and ignore it. Chances are, he's not the kind of person who's opinion you would respect anyway, so it might be best not to acknowledge his presence at all.

You are correct bobo. I should not have stooped to that level of idiocy. Sometimes I just can't help myself...

Tough crowd in here tonight 🙂

...but given JKdude's post, thank god for the electoral college...Maybe he should apply there as a Public Policy major 🙂

</sarcasm>

Just think, some of these idiots in here (not the original poster) are helping decide your (and my) future. This is not something that I feel comfortable with. Some people need to get a clue and investigate what each party/candidate is for and vote with your own conscience/mind, not "this is what everyone else votes for". Your vote is just that, YOUR vote.

The lesser of two evils is ahead right now. Please tell me, where is a candidate that acts with sense, displays logic, and has the interests of the people and their freedom in his decisions? (I already know the answer to this question, do you?) Stop this conversion to socialism and stand up for YOUR RIGHTS!

Feel free to flame me, as I'm sure that will happen.

Quit ragging on jkdude (though I suppose that has already turned into a counter-offensive on john_doe). Just because he's too old school to accept the twenty-(damn that memory - seventh?) amendment doesn't mean he doesn't recognize an 18 year olds right to vote. He just is subtlely commenting on the state of affairs in our country where only 10 percent of the 18-21 year olds vote. So in actuality, his statement was more truth than the undue criticisms of one John Doe.

And now a message from one of our sponsors:

If you are out in the west and have yet to vote, get out and vote Nader/LaDuke! If you've waited this long you probably weren't going to vote anyway, so it's not like you are making a vote for Bush or any of that nonsense. Are you unlike the mindless herd that follows Gore-Bush? You want some evidence to support your vote? Check out votenader.org and then look at michaelmoore.com for some interesting letters to both Gore and Bush that introduce some issues.

Yeah ArMs - I'm only 17 and I feel discriminated against. As is custom here at Anandtech - perhaps it's time for a class-action lawsuit? The Youth of America V. The United States 🙂

$0.25 per person actual damages
$1,000.00 per person punitive damages subject to confirmation of peer humiliation due to lack of "[x] I voted" sticker.

50,000,000 members in class

50,012,500,000 in total damages to be paid to class.
- 50,012,500,999.99 lawyers fees
=$0.01 to be distributed among members of class

And once again we get screwed leading to a lawsuit against the lawyers. Ahhh! This is too much like recursive programming! Damn you Fibonacci!

246-242 right now...

Just waiting on the Florida results right now....

very interesting indeed. What a RACE!!!
