gsi just signifies it comes with gamespy I think. You can remove gamespy, either by uninstalling or better, with Spybot.

Actually - I think titles distributed with gsi are "phone-home" games. They call back to GameSpy to authorize use of the software.

Every time the game is played, or just the initial install?

If it's just the initial install, no big. If it's every game that seems a little unlikely.

I just bought Shogo Mobile Armor Division yesterday at the used games section of EBGames for $2. Even though the bitmapping is primative compared to our standards the storyline kept me up to 2AM this morning (started at 10 last night) and I even saw a few active on-line gaming servers still active.

Also, I remember quite a few years back that Prophecy was a free download. Really good graphics but I missed having the kitties as enemies.

I'll check this one out too.

Regarding Gamespy...

Gamespy wasn't installed on my computer. If it is a "phone-home" game, I'm not aware of that, and I apologize, but I havn't noticed anything but the game installed.

One thing I'd like to mention is Gamespy issued me a CD Key, but no where did it ask me to put in the CD Key. Might be an issue for Multiplayer only as I have yet to try it.

Heh, sorry guys, my upload seems to be limited at 40kb/s, and it seems to be dropping . If anyone else can upload faster than that, you're welcome to contact RossMAN and giving it a shot.

Meanwhile, I'm worried about the CD Key issue, Fileplanet issued one, but no where did it ask for it. So hopefully it doesn't ask you either, if not, you just have a 450mb download with no CD Key.

If everything goes well, we could have some ATOT Games going on.

EDIT: I'm trying to sign on to WON, and it asked for the CD Key, so it might just be a WON Issue, or multiplayer in general.

EDIT2: Okay, you have to have a CD key to start/join a multiplayer game, no matter if its WON or a direct connect. I myself have a CD Key because I got it from Fileplanet directly. So, unless you somehow get a CD Key another way (up to you to find your own creative ways), this game will be strictly single player. I had a bit of a go at it, and its a pretty fun game. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it. The best things in life are free.

How did fileplanet give you a cdkey??? I'm downloading it from FP and i dont know how to get it.

How did fileplanet give you a cdkey??? I'm downloading it from FP and i dont know how to get it.

After the download had finished, Fileplanet opened up an IE window and told me my CD Key.

They also emailed the CD key to my email address I used when I had registered.

After you burn about 80GB+ it might be a good idea to start a torrent if one hasn't been started already. That way once the bandwidth is gone, people can still get it.
