Microsoft is giving away Fable III for free to Xbox Live Gold members. I have no idea how long this will last so grab it while you can at Xbox.com or on the 360.

Word. Bought this way back as I loved F2. 20 hours it glitches and I cant leave the area. Rrstart new game, 44 hours in the save gets corrupt. 1 out of 3 save games are corrupt yet the way the game saves all 3 are in one file. The DLC was fun but too many frustrating hours on it.

Ignoring all the bugs, the game is just awful. I've complained about it in other threads, but to sum it up...

  1. New features such as The Sanctuary (the game's interactive menu) make every action take significantly longer than it would with a standard menu.
  2. The map is nearly useless.
  3. The game slows to a crawl when you start using anything more than a light amount of magic.
  4. The story is god awful.
HOWEVER, Fable III can be ridiculously fun to play with other people. The graphics and animations are far superior to Fable II (hence the slowdowns), and you can just mess around and mostly ignore the story. That's how I played the game, and while I found the points above to be rather nagging, I did have fun.
 
Store items on the xbox website have two payment options. Credit card, or MS Points. It wasn't going through for me as my card on file had expired (being the default for GoD), but selecting MS Points allowed me to force the "purchase" through.
 
It shows up as $19.99, but when you go to purchase it, it shows as free, whether or not you pick pay with card or pay with points. Thanks OP!
