Why don't you chill the f out manko? With free e-mail services you can sign up for all the promotions with different companies, and once you see that BestBuy is sending out $10 gift certificates, you can get 4 instead of one...and send junk e-mail to another e-mail address so your primary doesn't get clogged up with crap. I've seen a whole lot more worthless threads than this.
[edit]Also, you can get "new customer" discounts sometimes by entering another e-mail address.[/edit]

runbox is nice, I've been using it for a while...until it came to anandtech. :)
Now it has poor uptime, slow response, and sometimes it takes upto a day to receive/deliver messages. Sometimes theyd otn even go through. And the server is based in norway?? not sure about that one.

<< For 100MB of free space for emails, try runbox >>

from the RUNBOX site:

29.05.2001

New Member Signup temporarily disabled
After a relatively long period of explosive user growth and consequent growing pains, we feel the time is right to temporarily halt the intake of new users and focus on stabilizing the system. We want to improve the internal structure of the system from the ground up, add more hardware, make software amendments, rid databases and mail directories of abusers, and perform other neglected tasks. We also want to focus more on our Norwegian user base and further develop our revenue models for the European market.

While not being able to accept new users is unfortunate, we're sure our current users will appreciate the increased service performance we'll be able to provide. We're confident this effort will improve the service as a whole, and we expect to resume the registration of new international users in a few weeks (signup at www.runbox.no continues as usual). We'd also like to express our appreciation for the continued attention and support from both existing and potential new users.

I agree. I try not using runbox as my 'regular' email provider anyway. I use it exclusively as temporary holder for large emails like photos etc.
The service has improved a lot lately though.
