I never watch DVD's on my computer...that's what the home theater is for. But, the other day, I tried (wanted to see what the PM4.1's sounded like w/The Matrix Lobby Scene!)
I put the DVD in the DVD drive, and lo and behold I get an error message "your free trial period for XXXplayer has expired." The DVD wouldn't play.
I put "XXX" for the name, because I honestly don't remember which software it was. The DVD Rom was graciously donated by my Dell, which now has no CDRom drive. The Dell came w/a "Dell Resources CD" which I assume has the player on it, but the CD is locked by some kind of coding that won't let me suck individual files off it. The CD only lets you do "a complete system restoration" which I'm not doing on my AMD system. My Dell is a PIII. Plus, who wants all the Dell Bloatware that comes w/it?
So, can you guys recommend a free software proggy that I can dl to play my one DVD that I want to watch on the computer? Thanks.
