Free drive wiping utility

Does anyone know where I can find a free drive wiping utility?

Check out the drive Mfrs website. They usually have downloadable software to do that.

I like BC Wipe

It can wipe free space, and all that other nifty stuff

The best 'wiper' is eraser. It's freeware, open source, it works great and you can get it here :

What I'm looking for is something that can wipe the entire contents of a drive, including partitions.

what you want is MaxBlast PLus

this program works great. you need a floppy so you can make a MaxBlast Plus boot disk and i believe at the end of wiping the drives it asks you to insert a windows boot disk. program wipes everything tho.

thats not true. i did it on a non maxtor drive. it works on anything
