Even hotter- wait 45 days and the card will be $249. Pick up Doom 3 on sale somewhere for $40-$45. You save $100+ :)

i see two problems with this:

1) bb won't pm if the other store is out of stock. they will call to verify price and item being in stock is one of the requirements of the price match.

2) bb has even fewer 6800 cards in stock than compusa!

other than that, go for it! :D

SUCCESS!!
And they didnt even give me any crap.
Just took my reciept in and after a little mgmt huddle, I got the game. They returned my card for credit and sold it to me again. (I bought the card on the 4th so i was still within the 2 weeks.)

I also saw some ppl leaving with the card and the game, so i guess the're actually in stock now.

HELL NO!!

This is a classic bait and switch. CompUSA corporate knows they have NO GT cards in stock, and won't for a while. But 'screw em' lets get em in so our White Shark Salesman can pimp something else

Well with that attitude you will never get in on this. I went down to my local CUSA this morning and they were out of them, said the Fedex shipment will not be in until tomorrow. So I went to the customer service deska and asked NICELY about a rain check seeing as they were out. They said that they could not do a rain check but could reserve one for me in advance and I can pay for it now. So I did.

Hot for me as I am building a Doom 3 box for a customer this week. To get the card at reatil with the game my customer will be thrilled to get the game as a bonus, and I turn out to be a good guy for getting it for him.

I am not a huge CUSA supporter but so far they have done me right, well see the outcome tomorrow when I go back to pick up the card.

BTW they only have six of these coming to my store in Portland, OR.

Well, I went to my local CUSA (northern Virginia) and they had three in stock. I actually held one in my hands but since I'm in on the Buy.com combo deal, I put it back down.

I figure I can wait another week or so to save ~$70.

Hopefully it's JUST another week or so :frown:

Anyone care to speculate on the relative merits of the MSI vs the PNY cards?

Do these overclock as well as any of the other ones? I always think of PNY as a cheapie brand

Apparantly PNYs have been some of the best overclockers among the GTs, that being said thats just what Ive heard and cannot confirm. I actually got lucky this morning and called to the syracuse location (closest to me as im in Canada) and they had 7 in stock. They didnt have any problem setting two aside and when my friend I got there, there were none left. Anyways im off to overclock this bad boy and play some free Doom 3, Good luck to others trying to get in on the deal.

I have my PNY 6800GT at 400/1100 which is Ultra speeds, max clocks were 435/1170 but Far Cry froze so it's back at Ultras. Just get TAP on it at CompUSA and who cares!?!?!?

compussr is my employer and word is this afternoon we have 13 on order (Could be anytime) we had some (PNY 6800GT) last week or so. They were gone in like 2 days (more like 1.1 days) We have a sku for PNY 6800U in our system but no arrival time or that even one is coming,
I'm hoping we get some BFG's with blue dual lit fans like BB.
The PNY GT is fugly chunk lookin like a iron w/ beat huge sticker of water??

The BFG with dual fans are more prone to heat issues.
Read around and you will see the quality is terrible compared to all of the other 6800 GT.

Sweeeeeeet. There were two left yesterday in Manchester CT...grabbed one w/ doom 3, and saved another 20 bux for signing up for AOL 3-month trial. Guy told me i can call and cancel any time (canceled it today). Final price: $400 + $24 tax - $20 off = $404 w/ free doom3.:D

I took my sales receipt on Sunday and they also game me Doom 3 even though I bought my video card on 8.2.2005....The guy that hooked me up with his employee discount also gave me Doom 3 for free... I then took my *new copy* to Best Buy and got back my $59....

$320 + $26.40 tax - $59 Doom 3 credit = 287.40 for my 6800 GT & Doom 3 :)....my wife was VERY happy...lol

There is a BIG difference between a card not being in stock and a bait-and-switch. I suggest you learn it.
