WTF is this?

1. Eligibility: To be eligible to win prizes in the Sweepstakes, you must be 18 years of age of older and a legal resident of the 48 Contiguous United States.

What, Hawaii and Alaska don't count? They're sending lousy electronic Gift Certificates. Makes no sense to me.

Besides, while the price for registration is not bad, the odds of winning don't get me too excited.

Do it the old fashioned way, with a browser and notepad side by side. More freedom, more flexibility.

The best WYSIWYG editor out there is Dreamweaver IMO. Started using it with V 2.0 now using V 3.0 and I think it does a great job.

I recommend any HTML (or other programming language) published by Wrox (the red covers). I have read a couple and they are great!

Editor: Cold Fusion Studio or Homesite, both made by Allaire. The WYSIWYG stuff sucks. The code that they develop are terrible, making it nearly impossible to edit it using real HTML.

In terms of a book about HTML, don't bother. There are enough resources on the web for HTML, and it's not hard at all. My opinion on the WROX books is 180 degrees different. Every book of their's that I have, isn't good at all. If you absolutely want a book, look at Que's quick reference for HTML.

Dreamweaver beats frontpage all the way. Even though it costs more, it's much better.

Although, if you're really really slow and need hand holding throught the whole process, get frontpage instead.

The only thing is, if you use frontpage's wizards, all your pages look the same. It's not very powerful neither...

I currently use Homesite to do all my HTML creation... As far as the HTML books go.. I have read WROX's ASP books and they were very good.. I just figured that the HTML books would be the same...

actually, I thought WROX ASP book was terrible. Maybe it's just me. The only computer book that I really like is the Cold Fusion Application Construction Kit by Ben Forta. Maybe that one just set a high standard in my mind, but no other book I can find comes close.

This thread is probably off topic, but whoever said Frontpage is not very powerfull is crazy. I use Frontpage 2000 all the time, and it has a lot of features you just don't see right away until you actually use it. More than most html editors, and I have tried many, so far its worked the best.

The ONLY thing it is missing in my opinion is the ability to move pictures pixel by pixel for placement.

I will have to tell you that code output Frontpage gives is horrible. When using Frontpage, there are lots of tag incompatibilities between browsers, when using Dreamweaver, there is only few.
