Diamonds really shouldn't be expensive in the first place since the market is flooded with them...only reason why we poor guys have to pay so much for them is because DeBeers controls the supply :disgust:. If you really want to get something that's somewhat precious go for the sapphires in one of Jokersmoker's threads

Synthetically produced sapphire is extremely cheap.
