Barney, please edit your title to "Warning-coffee spewing thread ahead."

If my memory is correct, the Milwaukee Brewers either made a very serious run at or beat this losing streak record sometime in the 80's, at least twice. And this was a year or two after they set a winning streak record. A local burger chain for years had a slogan 'free burgers if the Brewers win 20 in a row." They paid out when the Brewers did it-there was huge lines for free (White-Castle quality) burgers, one per customer. When the Brewers were on their losing streaks, the town joke was do we all have to go back to George Webb and give them a burger?

I've always been a Tigers fan. I remember the days of Trammel and Whitaker, and amazing 1-2 punch i the infield. But damn, these guys really do suck. I get lots of smack now that I'm in Toledo from all my friends who are Reds and Indians fans. But this is a good deal, take some buddies and watch a free baseball game at Comerica, since Dave Matthews tickets are too expensive.

Tribe's gonna take the central this year! Yeah baby! Then again...it's not like the central is exactly the strongest division in baseball...great start though, I can't wait to see them play the Sox tomorrow. I want to see if Kenny Lofton really found the fountain of youth.

I went ahead and signed up. It still gave me the 510 points. Maybe they'll offer tickets again someday, and I've got the points sittting there now.
