You need to give your CC and # from your statment over an unencrypted page so they will give you every bit of personal data an identity thief would want. I went and paid the $12.

While the page where you enter your CC # and the code from your statement is loaded unencrypted, the link through which your personal data is actually sent is encrypted (Just look at the html form) So, in the future, you can probably save the $12.
