FREE ~ Cork Screw (While Supplies Last)

Corkscrews Suck! They ruin the cork!

Get the proper tool to do the job! I have a sweet simple opener....has two long skinny blades...one slightly longer then the other and both have a bent tip. You force them down on either side of the cork until the tips get past the cork bottom, then rotate and lift.

Always works, never any damage. $5 at most stores.....and no age limit! 😀

Why would you care if the cork is "ruined"? I don't have any issues whatsoever removing corks with corkscrews. Then again, I don't plan on trying to replace the cork, lol.

I've seen those cork removers with the two side prongs work well, and bought one that worked very poorly. My rabbit ears corkscrew on the otherhand has worked very well.

Of course, within 3 years you won't see much cork anymore anyway. Believe it or not, screw tops will be appearing on most bottles of wine, not just cheapies. Studies have shown screw tops to preserve wine much better than cork, which can transmit disease that ruins the wine or which is also subject to imperfect seals which allow air infiltration. In Australia and New Zealand many of the better winemakers have already moved this direction.

Personally, I love using my rabbit ears, but progress is progress.

What about those pseudo-corks I've been seeing...not real cork, but some kind of artificial material of some sort? I've been seeing that more on Australian wines. I did see one brand of wine with a screw cap, and they put a card attached to a cork on the side of the bottle to let people know why they switched.

Nice find.

Incidentally, I'm all for the freebies, but a trip to the dollar store 2min from my house could save me a bunch of spam off the signup (and 6wks waiting) 😛
