Just called 1-888-826-5022 and they're mailing me a pre-approved offer within 7-10 business days (no I did not have a pre-approved acceptance #)

I'll probably be declined but it's worth a try.

Hi folks! I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a few days.

A question/comment or two on this deal - The credit agreement mentions an annual fee but doesn't list how much it is. Were any of you that applied told how much that was?

They also mention the 10.9% rate for "qualifying customers" but that your credit rating may result in a higher rate once they review your application. I'd be interested in knowing if any that applied actually get the 10.9% rate.

Thanks!

DEAD DEAL [unless you were invited of course]:frown:

Nope, not a dead deal since if you call the # Rossman did, they will prequal you right there over the phone and you can still get this deal.

That is IF you qualify and you won't know until 7-10 business days when you receive the approval or denial letter.

So there is still hope.

you don't need the special approval number.
I told them I didn't have it and ask them if I can still qualify.
They took down my information and told me that I will be receiving a letter or something.

It takes 3-4 weeks for the laptop to ship out which isn't so bad.

FYI
I called up the 888 number. The rep told me the 10.99% is variable rate. so it will change if the prime rate changes.
Also $500 one time fee will be charge if the balance is below 3k.

thats how all APRs are. It's a fixed amount on top of the Prime, which varies depending on the FED.

No, I don't think that's true. That's how all variable APRs work, but a fixed APR is actually fixed and does not depend on the prime rate.

Of all the people here, I figured you'd have no outstanding balance on your CCs...
Hmm... I'm interested in why you thought that and also why he does carry a balance. I guess, like me, he knows a hot deal when he sees one and maybe can't pass on enough of them. True? :D

Just called, they can't tell me how much memory, I assume it's 128mb standard. Also the "CD-DVD combination drive" is really a dvd-rom and cd-rom drive NOT a rewriteable drive. Also, the HP web site implies that the comp comes with wireless built in, but the fine print reads "at additional cost". Still not a bad deal for a laptop if you can deal with the terms, but expect to want some more memory, and probably an external burner for backups with ghost. I forgot to ask if it comes with a built in modem and ethernet.

Almost all laptops that are built now comes with ethernet+ modem built in.
Memory doesn't really matter much to me.. this seems like something that you'd carry around school or something.

as for a burner.... my desktop doesn't even have a burner, if I need something burned I just use the one on my other laptop.
It really isn't much of a hassle at all.

Existing deal (for all, they will accept applications even if you don't have a code) is valid only until 6:30EDT today. Tomorrow, I heard, the minimum balance required is $5,000 (up from $3,000) and the penalty will go up to $800 (from $500) if the minimum is not met.

Deal is not dead as reported earlier. Sorry for that.

He works for a bank, I figured he knew most CC companies are only out to screw you...

well i got in when they had the $500 fee if you pay off the balance. If I can sell the laptop for over $600 on Ebay, I'll just sell it and pay the $500 fee.
