Just in time to finish online holiday shopping and still get the packages in time!

Nice. I should find one of these machines, I have a big jug full of misc coins.

My credit union will take bulk coin. Some banks will too.

Imagine, real paper money for all that copper and nickel.

Casinos are more than happy to change your coins for free since they figure you'll lose it back to them anyway.

I'm not sure I'd wanna lug my 5 gallon pail of change on the plane with me.

My friend had a job at Starbucks once. He told me 20% of training was how to work the register and make the coffee/other products. The other 80% was to learn to keep a straight face when charging people $4+ for a cup of coffee.

This was so out of place, but such an awesome post. I got my laugh in for the night.

Good work :)

OP: You didn`t acutally know how many pennies you had did you? I have always wondered how accurate these machines are. Never used one but I have a feeling that it has an "error" margin that is in the favor of Coinstar.

Good stuff let me try it....I have been taking my coins to the coin machine and they take like 9% of the total. I figure I will spend $40 to buy a coin counting machine and row my own coins. I take it to Citibank and they said they can't take my self-rolled coins....tell me to unrow my coins and charge me 5% for counting it.....

If I knew how many pennies I had, I wouldn't have needed the machine. I could have gone to Best Buy on Black Friday and dumped them on the counter as someone suggested above.

I felt like about 25lbs.

sounds like someone needs to get out more :)

the credit union by my house (milwaukee) does this for free as well. after calling and finding out they dont charge, i took in brand new rolls of quarters and emptied them into the machine, when i was done, i took the slip to the teller and got the exact amount back.

good deal

I actually have a funny story about that, the first time I took my change to Vegas in a plastic yogurt container, filled to the brim (turned out there was about $70 in it). When I got to security at the airport, the density of the container and the fact they couldn't see into it prompted the xray machine to flag it for further screening. The girl at security swabbed it for any explosives, and then opened it up. She was looking at me kinda funny b/c I had a whole container full of change I was taking on the plane..but when I explained it was for Vegas, she got all excited and was like oh, have fun there and hope you win! But she also said I might want to put my change in little Zip-loc bags next time so it doesn't cause problems at security =)

This is a sweet deal. However, I work at Stator Brothers and they have an add for this serivice on the radio every 10 minutes. It bugs the heck out of me. The ladies voice is so annoying and they use the word "now" reduntantly. I am not English major, but any half brained idiot would relize that it sounds rediculous. I bet this makes no sense to anybody but I am sure there is at least one person here who works at a grocery store and has to go through the same auditory torture as I do. Oh yea, thanks OP even though I have this hot deal implanted into my brain, it will be very useful to someone else.

I just got in the habit of NEVER dumping pocket change into a dish etc., instead I spend my change and put more money out of old dish into pocket each day.

I was ok with my credit union's requirement to roll coins until they recently decided to accept no more that 10 rolls per customer per week. What the *^#%*&!!!!!!

What could possibly be the purpose of such an idiotic requirement???

...so, thanks for the heads up on this coinstar deal. It will save me time not having to roll the coins and I could submit all at once. Amazon and some other have plenty of merchandise I could use.

Yeah, I know it's not exactly the right place for this, but....

Anybody seen any good deals on a quality coin counter for personal use?

Thanks in advance to the non-flamers

But, it's like getting free money every once in a while when you put it in a dish. I know, it makes no sense, but it doesn't have to. I use any excuse I can to buy that latest DS game that I want. I'm pretty much a tightwad about everyting else.

I also have to much money drawn from each of my payckecks. But it sure is nice when tax time comes around. So uncle same has my money for a while, I don't really care all that much. It's like an extra bonus to me in March.
