Most African coffee growers are typically a family with a couple acres of land. Many of them are in dire straits right now due to the collapse in prices partially brought on by the multinational coffee companies dictating prices. A story on BBC News last week profiled a family which had to take their kids out of school, as they could no longer pay for it.
You're buying direct from the farmers here. Looks like a good deal all around.
