Hey guys,
I used DBPoweramp for a number of years to rip cds to MP3. Apparently, they've started charging for it now? is there a freeware ripping software that yall can recommend?

Thanks,

I second Exact Audio Copy.

There is also CDex (either the older 1.51 version or the new version that was developed after the original programmer stopped working on it).

They had to start charging for the Power Pack with MP3 encoder to cover the patent license fees demanded by Fraunhoffer ($5+/copy for encoders IIRC). dbPowerAmp itself is free, the Power Pack is $18.

If you've used it for a number of years, why not pay them the $18 and get the latest version? The Power Pack works great for transcoding a large library (I did FLAC -> MP3 for about 300 CDs using it)
