Free candy and soda at CrapUSA!

Credit where credit is due, I learned about this over at slickdeals....

So you know how they sell candy and pop at the register at every CompUSA? Well, read their pricematch policy available here:
CompUSA?s Retail Store Low Price Guarantee.
We'll beat any local retail competitor's advertised price on every product we sell by $1.00, either at the time of purchase or within the following 14 days. Our low price commitment covers all new, factory sealed products of the same brand and model number that are available, and in stock, at any local retail store.

So bring in an ad from the local Walgreens advertising Snickers bars for 60 cents each, or Coke bottles for a dollar. Have them pricematch it. You receive the satisfaction of getting free junk food and screwing over a large, evil corporation.

I would recommend bringing a copy of the policy, since you'll likely have to deal with an unhappy store manager.

This is not a hot deal, this is abuse of the system, then they'll change the policy for us getting real deals for hardware and such. Thumbs down.

Everyone abuses the system, you just gotta get in on it before the change.

Read about some interactions that happened when people got in on this deal. Funny

Same guy posted at Slickdeals and FW. Great Deal, thinking about trying it.

"I went to culver city CompUSA after reading this thread. I walked in with my walgreens, rite aid and savon ad. I looked for soda and candy. Well all i could find where sodas in a vending machine. Then i asked a salesman if they sold soda or candy and nice salesman took me over to candy section hidden next to video games in the front of the store and told me only place to get a soda was vending machine. I started looking at candy bars they had and i picked up 1 complete box of Hershey chocolate bars (48 bars). Salesman looked at me like i was crazy and said you know they are march cheaper at costco. I said yes but i want to price match it to rite aid price of 4 for 1 dollar. He then told me he never heard of someone trying to price match candy before and called the manager over. Well the manager looked at me like i had escaped from a mental institution and asked me if i was serous. I said yes i like you to give me this box of chocolates + $36 back please. I gave him the ad. He looked at me for a second and said we do not price match candy. I asked him where it said that in there price match policy so he ran to back of the store and came back like 15-20 minutes later with another manager and a print out from there computer. In the printed price match policy they showed me a line that stated "they have the right to limit quantities." And he would only price match 1 candy bar for me. So i said 1 of each kind of Hershey candy bar right? and he said no 1 candy bar. So i said fine does that mean i get 75 cents back + free candy bar? He said no he would give me 1 candy bar for free."

Actually, Zepp, if I was working CSA, I'd find this hilarious, and so long as the quanitity is within reason, I'd give to him through tears of laughter.

Wow what a tool  So someone whose trying to get a good deal on something is "pathetic?" Perhaps you need to click on that little button that's labeled logout and then the little x in the top right corner of your browswer window.

What he meant by calling this guy a loser was that he was really a total asshole. He is trying to show how much smarter he is compared to everyone else. That type of arrogance deserves a beat down. Common sense would be nice.

$2 in gas if you're traveling 40 miles to a CompUSA. A lot of people have a CompUSA nearby. A few miles is like ten cents worth of gas. Anyway...this deal is pretty funny, but stupid at the same time. You can get candy at Walmart or Walgreens for $1, so why bother trying this for anything except the amusement factor? That's the only reason I'd try it.
