For a limited time CA.com is giving away its Etust antivirus for Pocket PC for free. Doesn't say anything about a time trial. Get it here.

Also, for those of you that didn't know in May they were giving out copies of there Etrust antivirus for Windows Server 2003. However, if you visit the site it says the offer expires in may but the download link still exists. Maybe they just forgot to take it down so get it while its there. Link

Hey thanks, I'm downloading the Server 2003 AV to go with the enterprise server 2003 that came with the MsActionPackS subscription from a month ago.

FYI The server antivirus is designed for Windows Server 2003 but it also works fine under Windows XP.

I DEFFINATELY think this is better than Norton. Norton Anti-Virus might possibly have faster anti-virus defination updates ((I'm not sure if they do or not)) but their program is BUGGY AS HELL. They cause all kinds of problems wiht their settings. For Example, if you have script blocking enabled, you can't open up MS WORD docs in other programs and many other issues. Stick with CA.

Support for InoculateIT v4.5 is being dropped in March 04.

v 4.x support ends

We just switched 4000+ nodes from Etrust (actually it was InoculateIT) to Symantec AV. Symantec has great AV info, updates and support. However, centralized management leaves a lot to be desired. In two years, we'll give McAfee and maybe CA another chance, if they can competitively bid.

More free AV from and older AT post:

Thanks for the heads up wildcats!

I've tried to install this on XP, it shows it copies the files, but then when I go to the directories there is nothing there. I even had it create the dirs and tried again.

Edit: Now my print spooler just died, this never happened till I tried installing this...

Edit2: fixed, don't think it was this program...

FYI: I was looking through the license agreement as I was going to install it on our server and I saw this.

This copy of the Product is provided without any other maintenance or support and without the right to updates or upgrades. After the Term, continued usage of the Product as provided herein shall require Licensee to license a full function version of the Product and pay all applicable fees.

For those of you that care about breaking the license agreement, I think they might consider virus definitions as updates? That would render this pretty useless for us here... :( Did anyone ever catch how long the "term" says this promo version is?

btw. sorry for bumping this again, but the link is still a live, so it's still a hot deal for those of you who don't care about the above...
