Free blu-ray decoding/player Gnu/Linux (Debian)

Currently I'm using VLC with MakeMKV which works fine to watch all the blu-ray movies i have tried however MakeMKV is only in trial mode and I'll have to pay to register it.

So I'm hoping someone knows about a piece of software which is free which will achieve the same result.

This is a system running Debian 7.1

It looks like a partial solution. I haven't been able to find the program BDVMdugger, so discs can't be cracked using this method, but discs that have leaked keys should be playable.

I don't really watch video, so I have no personal experience.

Actually that link just point me to where i can download the MakeMKV source (and how to compile it and so on) which is what i have already done. So i still have the trialware problem.

Maybe it's possible to uninstall and reinstall when the trial runs out. It's not everyday i watch a blu-ray so I'll just script it if that's the case.

No, the first section under "hard way". It's a multi stage process to play the discs.

I skipped the hard way thinking it was just a long winded way to doing what ever they were going to explain in the easy way
