Free Big Mac at McDonalds after 10PM

what the hell is this 'open late' stuff? what is considered late? i went there the other day at 12am and they said they were closed and they had the open late sign out front. I asked them what time they closed and they said 11. What time is late then? What time do McDonald's usually close? Damn it i'm hungry... the only thing that is open around here for 24 hours is nasty Jack In the Box....

That guy did not look healthy although he looked healthier than what I would have guessed. Then again the real killer at fast food places are the fries and the massive worthless calorie drinks.

In health class in highschool (years ago) I learned that mcdonalds is the healthyiest fast food (burger joint) out of all of them. BurgerKing rated the worst. You can eat like 4 mcdonalds hamburgers and get the same amount of fat content as 1 burgerking hamburger. Mcdonalds pattys have very low fat, sodium etc.. content.

Its all public information, studys have been done, go google

Ok, I'll bite. No google needed, just look at the websites:

Mcdonalds
Hamburger calories: 260 total fat:9g saturated fat: 3.5g cholesterol: 30mg
Big Mac® calories:560 total fat:30g saturated fat: 10g cholesterol: 80mg

Burger King:

Hamburger: calories: 310 total fat:13g saturated fat:5 cholesterol:40mg
WHOPPER calories: 700 total fat: 42g saturated fat:13 cholesterol: 85mg


So Micky-Ds is a little better, you would need to eat about 1 1/2 McDs burgers or Big Macs to equal the saturated fat content of a BK equiv. That's nowhere near 4, as you said. As far as "low fat" 10 grams of saturated fat is a LOT in a Big Mac. That's 52% of your RDA for saturated fat in single food item. Don't kid yourself, Micky-Ds isn't healthy. I'm not saying don't eat there.. but I'd limit myself to maybe once every two weeks.

Their not exactly health food more like crap food for the lazy who prefer to fatten themselves up to death. It cost more to eat out at mcd's then to cook yourself a nice juicy steak or even roast duck.

all he showed was what happens when u just force feed yourself day after day after day. people do not force feed themselves to the point where it doesn't taste good, and they are throwing up. duh😛 there is no point to that movie. its easy to take whacks at mcdonalds, but the fact is u'd get sick force feeding youself assloads of anything.

That is the point... It's fashionable to bash big companies (again). Nevermind the fact that they must be doing something right to keep growing like they do. They're big, therefore they're evil. It never totally went out of style, but it seems to be more in vogue right now that in the not too distant past.

9/10 people are extremely lazy as long as they get something to get for cheap is all it matter.
since most just want to fill their tummy with junk, being successful is as easy as 1-2-3.

Evolution only kicks in when it stops the person from procreating and passing on their genes, which thanks to modern medicine is not a problem anymore (i.e. it can keep you living at least into your mid thirties even if you eat this stuff all the time). No, all McDonalds and other fast food will do is slowly bankrupt the healthcare system by increasing the obesity in this country and thus increasing the prevalence of the medical problems that are associated with it. And that is already happening...

And sorry but no. Evolution actually requires the passing of some genes. It is not simply that the less fit for survival die off. It is also that the more fit for survival thrive. It's adaptation to environment.

So either 1) the eaters of this will die sooner than those that don't thus those that don't. So will produce less offspring and gradually those that don't will win out over those that do. It's not an always instantious switch, it's a extremely gradual process. Or 2) if we have indeed adapted to eating these (through artificial means - that is improved healthcare) and surviving in which case again we have evolved to our surroundings.

And BTW, did you see the news lately?

Well as your article says, you may not die off early but you will have more medical problems along the way so your morbidity is still there. Have you read the news lately? GMs second biggest concern is healthcare, and I am not sure how your job gives you healthcare but rises of 10- 20% a year in premiums are not that uncommon and that is not healthy for the consumer.

no, evolution would still work. it just takes an assload of time. even if flat hideous slobs are only say 5% less likely to procreate as they are hideous or the cumulative effects of desease wreak havoc over generations..lowering living standards and the ability of the next generation to thrive etc etc, over the long long long term they lose😛
