Can you guys recommend (links please) any good, free benchmarking utilities for vid cards?

What i'd like to do is run it on my current setup and determine scores/performance and then run it again on my new system to try and measure the performance boost.

Those are the easiest to use and most prevalent. PCMark should also be decent for general system performance.

Thanks, I downloaded them both to my current POS P3 933.

Scores:
Aquamark: 8935 (8.9 FPS average )
3dmark 01 (high detail): 4282

As you can see, blistering speed! :roll:

This was on a p3 933, 384 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

The components for the new box are on their way!

Heh, your old box is strikingly similar to mine: P3-700@866, 384MB, Radeon 9100. I scored about the same in 3DM01, IIRC. Heck, I think I'll run both benches to see how the 9100 compares to the 5200 in our decidedly older rigs.

Edit: Here we go. Default settings for each benchmark.

AM3: 11,314
3DM01SE: 5,243

I'm still a little surprised my 9100 is faster than your 5200, especially in AM3, but 11fps won't feel any faster than 9fps if I'm after 60fps. I'm guessing you got at least a 9700P for your new rig, in which case you should be very happy with the improvement.

hmmm just tried AM3 today for the first time, scored 40,816. THats probably a pretty moderate score as my system follows suit.

your rig is similar to my old one too, 800MHz P3 384MB TNT2 32MB
