For a couple of years, I was so dependent on Gator for logging on to favorites (password and name) and filling in all the necessary data whenh making purchases, it was like an addiction. I learned that Gator is a notorious piece of spyware. AdAware had over 40 entries on it in both the HDD and registry. So, I found a very good replacement that is not spyware, and even imported all my Gator data. That freed me up to remove Gator. (And it's companion.)

The replacement is sweet - and AdAware is now happy after zapping all the Gator entries. The replacement is RoboForm. I went ahead and paid for the Pro version - otherwise it is free. Check it out here:

Yep! AdAware (newest version) now finds no traces of him.

Did you find yourself buying useless crap JUST to use Gator? If not then it's no addiction~! ;)

No - so maybe addiction was not the right word - try "security blanket." :D

And yes, it really was a sad, sad, thing. But it sure feels good to be rid of it. AdAware rules!
