Free app: Show Hidden Files

what's wrong with ls -a?

I guess if you use finder to browse then I could see the point.

You don't use Finder to browse your files?

I do mostly because I browse in anticipation of then launching, and I prefer launching apps by double-clicking rather than typing.

I rarely open finder.

I use spotlight to open apps (cmd-space type a few characters hit enter) and I use the terminal most of the time for file management. Mainly because I find cp, mv, and rm to be more intuitive then drag and drop. Plus finders default drag behavior screws with me from years of using operating systems that combine folders of the same name and not overwrite.

do you seriously browse your files using the terminal?

thanks for the quick app, I've been wondering how to show stuff in finder w/o having to go into the terminal. there's a directory dropbox uses for cache that fills up like crazy for me and never gets deleted. I have 50GB in there once. I hadn't noticed my HDD filling up

If I'm doing system maintenance yes. I find it much more efficient and intuitive then a mouse.

Sure if I want to play a mp3 I don't open a terminal. But if I'm going to do any kind of major work it is on the terminal. I have not found anything better.

I use Quicksilver for fast access. I have it programmed to launch by pressing the left-tilt button of my scrollwheel via Steermouse. All I do is tap the wheel over and up pops a search box, it's great 😀

ah, system maintenance. that I can see being easier to manage in terminal. I was thinking more of day to day stuff, like going to a video, or a document. Even then I mostly use quicksilver, heh. To be honest, the dropbox thing has been the only thing I really wanted to show hidden files. It was mostly because I had no idea how to delete files begining w/ a dash at the time.
