free alternative to Visio?

i searched sourceforge for "diagrams" but didn't find much relevant. i dont need the extensive feature set of Visio, just the ability to make some simple professional diagrams. also, something that works on windows and mac would be amazing 🙂
 
Been using Dia since I last posted and damn its soooo nice 😀

Its going up as a default when people ask for Visio at work now. Unless they cant say they really need Visio features they are getting Dia instead.
 
I think I like the UI of Diagram Designer better. Compared to Dia anyways.

But, Dia seems to be more featureful.
