I plan on calling Monday to ask if it is possible to do multiple rebates on the same original receipt but until I find out I'd stick with only the wireless adapter since the 7in1 doesn't cost enough for free shipping.

Yep, I just got burned...If *ONLY* I had checked this thread..I would have had time to ask for a second "original" looking receipt...*sigh*.......

Looks like I've got something to sell here........

*sigh*...

I was looking into possibly doing the same thing. Here is was the ECost Rep said to do: make a photocopy for yourself and send in the real one for rebate #1. For rebate #2 call Ecost and they will e-mail you a receipt to print out and send.

kwo, did you try what Mecheater suggested?

The deal is still active

Can anyone who bought say if the range is okay & did the rebate ever come?

Thanks

My question, too. Anyone using this USB on a Linux box with success?

Yeah, I called them...and they said they'd send it to me...but it didn't come..and I needed to get it postmarked..so, I used my color inkjet to make a *color* copy of the receipt...looks a lot like the original..so, I'm going to hope they don't think too much and just assume it's the original......

Of course, the original went for the $35 USB adapter. i figured worse comes to worse, I'm out $15 for the 7-in-1 card reader....

Kwo. That stinks. Its deceptive at best to hide something like that in the fine print. Also, making so you can't get the dup on time is very slimey, possibly fraud.

Well, in all honest, JayR...I should have checked more closely. I usually have a 2 day turn around time once the items come in to get the rebates out...but, this time, I let it slide 'til day 12 (w/ a 14 day postmark from order date clause)..so...I do have to take some of the blame.

I guess I was just shocked, as I've *NEVER* encountered a rebate that required the ORIGINAL receipt....just seems kinda stupid. Oh well. Bite me once....shame on them...bite me twice......

DOUBLE REBATERS DON'T GIVE UP HOPE:
The story they gave me when I called was that both the Wireless LAN and the Card reader rebates go to the same address, so just send everything in the same envelope. Both rebate forms, both bar codes, and the packing slip with both items circled.

The woman I talked to said they have been inundated with calls about this issue.

It must be some small subcon from Taiwan.

yeah, good luck getting the rebates. Seriously how many times have you mailed in rebates and actually got them. I've been scammed by mail in rebates twice so far. one for $30 and another one for $75.
