Free 7 day trial for World War II Online

So you guys think this game is good? I'm a WW2 buff, but when this game came out it had so many bugs that I never bothered. Any hints for us newbies?

Your right, it did have many problems...but after many patches its turned into a darn good game!! Join a squad would be my best advice for you!! Go and re-try the game again...I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!!

Well... I wanna believe it.... but they cost me 50$ for a shitty start... and 2 month of frustration. Why reward them for pulling a fast one on me?

Look at the Allied High Command and Axis High Command pages (links to these are in the link above)

The game great and the more organized of a group you get together the better. So look for a squad to join. I've been in the 31st Wrecking Crew (Axis) squad and it's a great time

For tips on how to start playing and stay alive check out the sticky threads at the top of the Barracks Forum "Beginner's Guide to WWII Online" and "WWIIOL Survival Guide"

BTW if you do decide to join up for more play you can put Huey down as your recuiter.

Karsten: Yes they had a horrid start but that was because the publisher Strategy First made them rush it out the door so they could make thier quick buck. The developers, Cornered Rat Software, are behind this game 100%. They listen to the players in the forums and will make development choices based on feedback.

The game has developed into an amazing product over the last two years, I recommend giving the free trial a shot.

i haven't forgiven them for the crappy release. and then almost a year later they released some major patch and were giving a one week free trial. i gave it one more shot and true, it wasn't buggy/laggy anymore but I realized it just wasn't a very fun game. my 2 cents

Guys it's a blast.....and getting better all the time. Brigade spawning and true supplys focus coming soon, and also finally a Weapons Server...we'll get Mortors/Arty and more then. The Terrain is very 3D now (and tough on Tanks) and the cover much better. THIS IS NOT A SHOOT EM UP FIRST PERSON GAME! You have work in teams and learn and take your time to enjoy it best and have good results. I have a WWIIOL forum at my site (Home of the 8th Panzer) where any questions will get answered. Yep I agree. They'd have to pay me to go back to that game. I don't want to promote releasing a game like that which was completely horrible for months and months. We were paying to beta test. Lame.

c: They actually didn't start charging for play for months after release but I understand where you guys are coming from. CRS (the development company) feels bad about the launch but they were put in the position where it was either release then or never so they went for it.

WWIIOL offers the an indepth MASSIVE world (one large city in WWIIOL covers the area of an entire Planetside continent) and if you don't give it another chance you're missing out. It is a free trial after all, so in reality they are paying for you to play by providing bandwidth and the game server so you're getting you wish to some degree 😉
And it has been two years.

Tim yeah you have a point. It might be worth trying again. I've noticed with a lot of massive online games that they aren't really worth playing until months after release (sometimes years). That's kind of sad but hopefully all this experience that is being gained now will lead to better massive online games in the future.

I've been busy with Battlefield 1942: Road to Rome and Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory lately.

Hope you give it a try, the promotion runs until June 9th so you have some time to get burned out on the other games and then give it another shot!

Ok, downloading right now. It looks pretty good, but I'm not one for subscriptions. Thanks for the free trial link "Huey" 😉

What a JOKE! They want my credit card info before they let me play online for a week? Forget that.

Yeah that's pretty common for online games. I've had to do it plenty of times during my free trial. You just cancel before you get charged. Pretty easy really.
