Free 60GB SSD with select motherboard purchase

Wow... they're doing just about ANYTHING to try to get rid of OCZ SSDs these days, aren't they?

actually not only is the SSD free, you also make $10 from the rebate. You should be able to sell the SSD on ebay for another $30-40. Grab me a just-arrived Z77 OC Formula.

To think that my first motherboard purchase in 4 years was a qualifying Asrock Z77 motherboard last sunday and I wanted a SSD to install Windows on, but didn't have the money for both and am left kicking around Ye Olde style harddrive.

Asrock z77 extreme 6 was 159.99 with free ship a couple days ago. Now its 189.99.

Are these SSD's just not good or something?

OCZ's reputation aside (some like it, others don't), Agiligy 3 (based on SF2281 controller and asynch NAND's) is comparable to Intel 330, Kingston HyperX 3K, or Corsair Force 3. It used to be considered Tier 2 (below Vertex 3) until Vertex 4 came out 2 months ago. With SSD prices falling like rocks, 60gb is no longer considered to be the bare minimum size (you can get a 90-gb or even a 120-gb one for not much more). That being said, you can pair it with a mechanical HD, or in systems with Intel Rapid Response.

More like the Kingston V+200 (not V200, but V-PLUS-200). That is Kingston's lower end Sandforce 2281.

Tiger Direct has a 120GB Agility 3 today for $60 AR FS. Just sayin'. :sneaky:

Yup, Z77 supports SSD caching without 3rd party software (outside of Intel SRT).

Well, I once said they would have to pay me to take an ocz drive...

LOL, someone must have heard you.

 Sig worthy, if I do say so myself.

Tomorrows deal - buy one OCZ SSD, get another of comparable size for FREE !!

With the newest firmware they're fine. It's just a case of too little; too late for most people.

I've taken advantage of those falling prices, went all in on OCZ Agility 3's for all my laptops and computers. With the latest firmware, they're fine.
