Just in case no one noticed, this deal is listed on the Compusastores site under "two day specials," which means that Monday is the last day. There are numerous other two-day deals there too, such as the free-after-rebate 10 CD jewel cases (which OfficeMax is also running this week), etc.

Concerning the whole rebate issue...

When I was walking out of the one in Tyson's Corner (which was quickly out of rebate forms), there was a sign-in sheet by the door for rebates. You just put down your address, info, etc., and according to them, everything will be processed.

You could try just going back and see if they have something similar (and while you're at it, get another!).

Only 6 more message and I'm a senior! - which of coursem may not mean much with some of the latest messages going around :)

read the fine print at the bottom of the form:"no copies of claim coupons will be accepted".

I went to CompUSA by my place in Fullerton CA, yesterday and it was hectic. Those gold/silver CD's are gone.... well I was very fortunate to find one laying around in the store :) Anyway, the customer service manager said that there have been a delay on the Compusa rebate shipment. They had me wrote my name, address, and the items I purchased.
They said that they would send me the rebate form.
And I also agree with resinboy, I don't think they'd accept copies of rebate form.

Yeah that sucks.
I drove 20 miles with only one thing on my mind and was very very disappointed to find they all sold out early Sunday morning.

I wish they would stock a lot more stuff they have on special so it would last both days.

I was lucky to find some laying around in the wrong place in the store but everyone else was told that they were out. Then when I was standing in line about 15 minutes later some guys behind me had 3 of them and I asked where they got them and they told me someone went in the back and found some more and put them out!!! You may want to check and see if they do in fact have more somewhere. Maybe they were rationing them.

Thanks for the pictures of the rebate form, Mike! I'll use these as a backup should CompUSA 'forget' to send the real rebate form to me.

Just one question -- what were the dimensions of the real rebate form so that we can print this out at the appropriate size?

Thanks again!

In case you guys are wondering why u couldn't find any and some people behind u in line had some cdrs in their hands...it's cuz some ppl hide em around the store so their friends can go get em later. Pretty sneaky huh??? But I'm not *ahem* that sneaky.....

Another CompUSA fiasco.

I went at 12 noon Sunday, and they had none on the shelf. I asked customer service and was told they were sold out. I asked to see the manager, and then asked him how they could be all sold out just 2 hours after the sale began.

Surprise, surprise, he went 'in the back' and they somehow appeared, as if magic.

CompUSA...what a joke

It's not really a joke, and I think it's kinda nice of them. They had some of the stuff out on Sunday morning, and it all sold in no time at all. I just happened to be around Monday morning, about an hour and a half after it opened, and they had some of the Kodak CDRs again. They save some of the stock for day 2. So when you complained on Sunday, they probably got you some from the "Monday pile".

On Sunday they had the cart of Kodaks behind the "Compact Technologies Counter" and you had to ask for one. Well, the lines were really long and there were only a handful left in the cart so I looked around. On the counter where they showed the different media they carry was a pristine Kodak 50 pack. Picked it up, compared SKUs and got my blanks. Some of the people in line gave me a funny look, but what was I supposed to do?? :)

what about the rebate form? The compusa store in columbus, OH gave me a photocopied page of both front and back side of the claim form. I read the fineprint saying that copies of claim forms are not acceptable. Is there a way that I could get the "original" claim forms? or should I just send in the copied version? any ideas? tia.

I've gotta disagree with you Mental.

Why even have a sale at all when you plan to have the item out of stock for 6 of the 8 hours the store is open on the first day of the sale, only to save some for the next day. I could see them being out of stock if I went Monday late in the day, but to be out of stock only 2 hours after the sale begins, is bad planning at the least, and deceptive advertising for sure.

As for the products being in limited supply in the first place, I agree. That does suck. And it's not like they last two hours either. While the Kodak blanks were still available a half hour after opening on Sunday, the free after MIR 40X cdrom drives were gone after about five minutes.

I was thinking it was cool that instead of having the CDRs last for 45 minutes on Sunday, they lasted for a half hour on Sunday and about 2 more hours on Monday.

I was thinking that all of these deals where its free or near free or free after rebate had really limited quanities, but I am remembering quit a few that were not, but none within say the past 5 years.

It's great to walk into these sales and watch people fight over near free stuff that they probably don't want in the first place.

Danger Will Robinson!!!

Don't use the photocopied rebate forms (my CompUSA also had them). Got confirmation from CompUSA CSR and RebatesHQ that copies were not acceptable. She gave me the direct phone number for the manager of my local store and told me to contact him about ordering rebate forms.
