Don't get your hopes up too much, guys. here is one of the rules:

"If you request to switch plans, the request will take effect the beginning of the next billing cycle. You will not receive free postage a second time from the new plan unless you receive a separate offer telling you so."

I think that you will be charged that $15.99 and when you switch plans, it'll take effect the next billing cycle, but you'd still be charged that $15.99, at least that's how I interpreted it. I really really hope I'm wrong though.

Well, I did the first month on the Power Plan, Then I switched to the Simple plan. Your first month still is free. All of your free postage rolls over to the new plan. You keep the friggin scale no matter what.

They did charge me the $15.99 for that first month, but a quick phone call to cs correctted that. Received $15.99 credit promptly. The first month IS FREE even if you switch plans.

Very happy with stamps.com. So far have only paid $1.99 for the second month. In the third month now.

Why is everyone so worried about canceling within a month just not to have to pay anything? Just getting 5 friends to signup under you gets you an additional $50 cash and a $100 buy.com GC!! five more referrals and they give you the free Hp printer! thats more than worth it!!! this is really the hottest deal out there

spec411, what's the link that explains that? no one has answered me in this whole time. but everyone keeps on sending me referal emails in my mailbox. the next one that sends me a referal email will get it forwarded to stamps.com. you were able to work up to a palm v or vii if i rememberred correctly. $50, then $100 buy.com gc, etc etc. thanks in advance.

$50 cash and $100 buy.com GC after getting just 5 friends to signup! $50 more cash and a HP printer for 5 more signups! (better than the estamp rebate deal b/c you dont spend your own money!)

Thats why you want to keep the service for a couple months!

Stamps.Com just changed their policy posted on their web site re: the "free" scale. If you cancel within the first 30 days you will be billed $33 for the scale unless you send it back. I just changed my plan for the 2nd month to the $1.99 plan then will cancel. :)

Did they "just" do this? I cancelled two days ago during my free trial month. I wonder if I get to keep it. Is that $33 a typo?

Must be a new change. Free postage went from $50 to $40 too. Let us know if they try to bill you for the FREE scale. Anyone talk to customer service yet?

Yup, looks like Stamps.Com **did** change the freebies in 2 ways. The scale is still free **if** you sign up for the $15.99/month Power Plan **and** stay for at least the 2nd month (after lowering your service to the $1.99 plan?). But...

If you go to www.Stamps.Com, you see an offer for up to $40 of free postage (with the Power Plan).

If you go to http://www.stamps.com/welcome/ you'll find an offer for $45 of free postage (with the Power Plan). (Found this link on www.A2ZDeals.Com.)

Yup looks like they reduced the deals, like Ive said its WAY better to keep the service for 2 months so you have 2 months to use all the postage AND get to keep the scale no worries...

REMEMBER YOU CAN STILL GET THE BEST DEAL ($30 free postage for signing up on the $1.99 simple plan or $50 postage AND THE SCALE signing up for the power plan) by following my instructions in the first page of this post!

ANd then you are eligible for the rewards such as the $100 buy.com GC if you signup 5 friends, etc..if you have questions email me at bayluv650@hotmail.com

Does this place use a dongle like estamp? I'm using the estamp system but wouldn't mind getting a free scale. THink I can install this place's software on the same pc and print postage on the same Dymo printer I use for Estamp?

Oh btw, speaking of the Dymo label printer... Estamp has a deal on the EL60 for existing customers. $149.95 after mail-in rebate, which is quite a bit cheaper than the $175.99 (before 10% PC) at Onvia. I've been very pleased with the service from Estamp so far.
