Here is how it works

scanner---------74.94 - staples rebate of 30.00 = 44.94
paperport 7.0---49.94 - staples rebate of 40.00 = 9.94

use a 25 off 100 coupon (easy to find)

total is now $29.88

now go to visioneer web site and get the $30.00 mail in rebate
http://www.visioneer.com/purchase/f2000rebate.html
This makes it all free.

Hurry, staples purchase dates until 2/10/2001 on scanner and 2/11/2001 on software. Visioneer purchase dates until 3/1/2001.

From the Staples rebate page for this scanner:

"Please attach the following product information to the rebate entry form: Original or a copy of the UPC Code"

From Visioneer rebate page:
"Cut out and send complete UPC bar code..."
"Include an original or copy of your sales receipt"

So here's what to do:

For Staples, send the original receipt and copy of UPC.
For Visioneer, send copy of receipt and original UPC.

Should work.

There are a couple of $30 off $100 coupons, one good till the middle of the month and the other to the end of the month, which makes the deal $5.00 hotter

Make the deal even better by only having to deal with 1 Rebate and you still get the scanner for approx $5.00!!

Eliminate the paperport software and use one of the $10 off of $50 coupons found
at JumpOnDeals

It is still in stock for certain area codes...

BTW: I'm sueing AnandTech because of all these HOT DEALS!!!! :)

I didn't need the scanner. Ordered the software and a pink pearl eraser, then applied a $10 coupon. Total was $50.37 - $10 Coupon - $40.00 rebate = $0.37. Terrific deal; Thanks kater1!!

The two rebate for the scanner are advertised in the Staples Sunday flier so I'm sure they would both be valid.

That is the only Visioneer rebate, where's the other?

I did the same deal as Richard... just got the software. I don't need the scanner, I picked up the Epson 1240U Photo back when Amazon.com had the $50 deal. Anyway, I've been using Paperport for several years now and it's good software, well worth the deal. I wouldn't pay $40 or $50 for it, but even if it worked out being $15 it would be worth it.

Can't seem to get into either the visioneer rebate page OR staplesrebates.com today; keep getting server timeout errors on both. Anyone else hitting this wall?

Scanner seems to still be available in the 95828 zip. Just picked up the scanner for $4.94 + tax (after rebates.) Staples rebate center states that a copy of the UPC can be sent in so the original will be mailed in with the Visioneer rebate. Super deal!

This scanner looks alot like the Memorex one they had a while back (which was made by Visioneer). There was also a rebate involved in that one that was sent to Staples, but processed at Visioneer.

So for this deal, wouldnt that mean that if you sent one rebate to Staples and one to Visioneer that they would BOTH end up at Visioneer???

Just something to ponder...

Starlite,
You're reading it wrong.

You can't use multiple Visioneer offers on the same product purchase. That's all it means. A lot of rebates have this provision.

As for why you can get two rebates for purchasing one Visioneer scanner, it's because the 2nd rebate is a Staples one, not a Visioneer one.

Doe anyone out there have a clue how good this scanner is? I haven't been able to find any info on picture scan quality, scan speed, noise, etc.

Please us the $30 off $100 rebate instead. Better Deal.

Just ordered from Staples.com. It says Delivery: 1 day. I suppose this means that they have it in stock or a local Staples have it in stock.

Yeah... just wait until one day you trip over something in your house and realize it's the 400+ CDR's you have piled up over the past month or two because they were too good of a deal to pass up :Q

Then it's accurate to conclude, that the scanner part is done exc in 1 CA zipcode. But the software part is OK [at least I just did it]. Darn good deal, both of them, nice job, no complaints.

It's a nice scanner. I bought it at Staples, Wednesday before the rebate for $69.99 (used $35 off one hundred coupons). I went back to Staples yesterday and they were nice enough to redo the sale so I could take advantage of the rebates.

It's a 42 bit Color 600x1200 dpi USB (Win 98/ME) scanner. It's quiet and makes nice scans (it's just a bit slower than my HP that broke). I'm very satisfied for almost free.

BTW, how does the Paperport software included with the scanner compare with Paperport 7.0?

The Staples ad says "in store only".
But I heard the Staples rebate says it's good for purchases from staples.com too.

Can anyone clarify? Is the $30 staples rebate on the staples.com web site the same as the rebate in-store? Easiest way to check would just be the mailing address (box number) for the rebate.
