Free 40GB IPOD....not gonna bite afterwall...not yet anyways

One question: I love to cycle. What accessories, if any, exist to take the IPOD iwth me, such as a armstarp type thing? Obviously this is too big for that, but what are my options?

I'm fairly certain that in at least NY State it is illegal to ride a bicycle while listening to stuff through your headphones.

Anyway... have you considered an Archos product? They're not the best MP3 players (at least not the Jukebox MM20 we have) but it's great for other stuff (like taking with your digicam on vacation for pic storage).

I don;t think it is illegal in the back wood trails of Virginia...basically going through the middle of NOWHERE T truely gorgeous. The "wAD" trail




As for the Archos, my firend has one of their products, and although theyoffer some features, I really do not like the asthetics and the overall interface.

As for the HP140, I have been perusing the forums, and am VERY interested.

At least I have a week to decide

I thank everyone for their help. After reading the wealth of information posted and that I found on my own, I find that I just cannot justify the purchase.


1) $500 is a LOT for a 1 year old [iPOD] Music Player model.
2) I've heard interesting rumors about the new ipod models, and I'd rather wait.
3) The iriver is nice and all, but regardless of the fact that it may be technically superior, the IPOD's functionallity with itunes is seamless. I want to drag my songs to it, listen to them, single some out for later, and be done with it. Voice recording, a display that displays EVERY DAMN THING YOU COULD POSSIBLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT A FILE, and Input/outputs are great, but they do not appeal to me, as I honestly would never need them.


4) I will bank the rest after I buy Snapstream's PVR software and a WINTV 250 Hardware encoder/TV tunercard f


I will deal with my minidisc 'till the new ipod comes out ( expected by end of april/early summer)

P.S. Obviosuly I would have bought the IPOD.

BTW, I here the new iPOD will incorporate the IPOD mINI's Clickwheel...yet another reason I am choosing to wait

Yeah, integratiion with iTunes can be seen as either good or bad. One thing that I really love about the iRiver is the fact that USB Mass Storage capabilities means it can be swapped among any computer without having to worry about installing drivers or software. This enables the iHP to be used seemlessly as a 40 GB USB hard drive, without any type of copyright protection But yeah, a new iRiver is also around the corner as well (supposedly the iHP 330).

exactly Why I am waiting...there is no sense in buying something at the end of the cycle when there is no rush...
