I think I've discovered a way to get 256 MB SDRAM from OM for FREE. Please check this and make sure I'm not just stupid:

Here's the OM OM weekly ad for 9/1. Click on the image to zoom in and see it better. In the upper right of the ad, just below where it says "computer system" across the top, you'll find:

K-Byte 256MB 168-Pin SDRAM DIMM
$69.99 - $20 instant rebate - $15 MIR - $15 OM MIR = $19.99

After taking the instant $20 off, you'd need to add something worth a few cents to push it over $50.00 (paperclips works fine). Then have OM match the OD $20 off $50 coupon.

Final cost: $0

Am I right?

looks great. I especially like the front page with the scanner, printer, and burner that will come out free using the 20 off 50 coupon. Didn't know you could get the ads early signing up on their website. Thanks

I will definately try this today after work... RAM + Sticky Tack, then give them the OD coupon (are you SURE they'll accept it?) and then just mail off $30 in rebates.... sounds good to me

Thanks for pointing this out. I've been waiting for a deal like this. I got a Kingston Rebate a few months back; hope this does not disqualify me.

The OD coupon didn't work for me... I'm stupid though, I should have picked up the Kingston RAM for $20 anyways

Got a question:

I went to OM today to get the ram, so I got the slip for K-byte 256 ram and go to the check out line. Well they refuse my OD 20 off 50 coupon so the total cost comes to around $39. I figured I had some rebates and the guy told me overall it would come out to about 10 bucks. So I figured not all that bad. Later on, I find out that they gave me the kingston 256 ram chip instead of the K-byte. And when I looked through the rebait catalogues they gave me, I only saw one rebate for 15 bucks for the kingston one. So overall it'll be like 25 bucks. So I guess my question is if I should tell them they gave me the wrong ram and if i can get the k-byte. Since the OD coupon didn't work, it'll end up being $20.00 instead of $25. But is K-byte even a better chip than the Kingston? The Kingston is pc133 and cl 3 if that helps.
Thanks

Kingston is better than K-Byte. If it's only $5 difference, keep the Kingston. It will also be easier to get rid of if you ever want to sell it later.

Om in my area has the Kingston on Sale for $69.99 with $35 instant rebate and $15 Mail in rebate.
Add the Hi-VAL 50 pack of CD's$16.99 with $10 Mfg Mail in rebate + $5 OM mail in rebate and the $1.99 instant rebate you can use the $20 off $50 coupon and get the CD's and the RAM for Free.

But that is in CT

No K-byte memory on sale in CT.

My OM was already sold out of the Kingston, so I just went to OD and pricematched it (and used the 20 off 50 coupon). The guy was nice enough to credit me for the $15 mail-in rebate because they didn't have any rebate forms, so it was $19.99 out the door.

My OD had the Kingston on clearance, so he was glad to get rid of it.
