Free $20 GC for transferring your Rx to Eckerd

This is incredibly stupid of them. They're hurting for business, so they have this deal where all you do is have your Rx transferred to them from any other pharmacy, and you get a free $20 Eckerd gift certificate. It might even be usable at JC Penny's. I don't have the coupon in front of me (you need it for the deal; I think was in this week's circular), so I can't tell you much about the details. They also have a photolab deal going on: If you are not satisfied with the quality of your photos (processed anywhere), just bring in the negatives and the bad prints, and they'll reprint them for free.

Yeah, a lot of stores do this kind of deal. I've seen them at Target, Giant (east coast only (?) grocery/pharmacy chain), and Rite Aid. I just checked my Eckerd circular (in Northern VA) and there's no pharmacy coupon though. 🙁

One thing that's really cool, though, is that Giant honors any competitors' pharmacy coupons + $1, so whenever any of these coupons come around, I take my prescriptions to Giant (where I happen to do most of my grocery shopping anyways).

If these things are in the Eckerd circular, and you're sickly like me and need to get prescriptions filled fairly regularly, I would suggest going down to Eckerd and picking up several more copies of the circular, since most stores have them available right as you walk in. I've seen some of these coupons that last for 1 week, some for 2 weeks, and even for months sometimes (which is when picking up lots of copies of the circular really comes in handy).

Where are you located, mdetz?

I'm in TX. I'll try and find out if it is regional or not. The coupon had an experation date of 10/6, so one has plenty of time to make some money.
