Do you guys ever wonder why some of this stuff is "free?" I mean, read the text:
The information you provide is only for the purpose of fulfilling this offer. Your email address will not be given or sold to anyone. Your mailing address will be given only to Field & Stream Magazine for the sole purpose of distribution.
Are they kidding? Just by mentioning that makes me very suspicious. Why isn't the publisher of F & S posting the offer? This is a third party Internet company (one I have never heard of by the way) and there is no encryption on the page (and I realize they are not asking for an SS # or an account # but many legitimate companies will still encrypt for lower level personal information).
I certainly don't mean anything by saying this but it is a little like filling out the "win a free car" forms at the mall. You know the little sweepstakes box next the the new Ford SUV parked in the mall. All of that personal info you provide, goes right into the junk mail list. I mean, if you don't care about junk postal mail, then sign up for every free offer you see. I for one get tired of my name appearing on crap that I did not ask for. I just wonder why the word "free" is such a powerful draw for some people. The chances of winning that car in the mall and the chances you will actually see a copy of Field and Stream magazine are very small.
To each his own I guess...
