If you "hate" BofA, don't you think it would be sensible to try to get over your nostalgia for the "card I've had for 8 years" and just close your account? One phone call should do it.

As for the story linked by dirtrat, it's too bad that the Craigslist seller was victimized, but I would hope my bank would also call the police on somebody presenting a fraudulent check on my account.

i don't think it's the nostalgia... he only has two CC's, and he's had the boa card for 8 years. it would probably affect his credit score noticeably if he closed it.

That's a good reason to keep it. Hopefully his service glitches will iron out shortly - acquisitions can be rocky. FWIW I would rate BofA's online account service at least as good as the other banks I use, but I don't have one of their CC's.

No card yet, however I did call them to ask about my ipod, they couldn?t even verify the deal...I even had the code for the deal, still they had no idea...I?m awaiting a supervisor to call..
But the fine print does say 10 to 12 weeks delivery.

I guess I shouldn't have posted that I haven't gotten the card yet. It was in the mailbox later that day.

I was poking around on their site and saw just how many deals they had. There were a ton of deals and different kinds of cards. I'm not shocked that the CR had no clue about the iPod.

The offering information for the credit card says that the ipod will be shipped 10-12 weeks after you spend $2000 on the credit card. I received my card already. About two weeks after my first purchase I received the $50 statement credit. My first purchase was over $2000 so I am patiently waiting for the 10-12 weeks for the 2gb iPod.

1st purchase OR balance transfer (on both the $50 credit and the IPod).

Provided the purchase or transfer is at least $2000. Per the credit card web page:

§§§ To qualify for the 2GB Apple® iPod nano, respond to this offer and use your new account within 90 days of the date the account is opened by Bank of America to make any combination of purchase or cash advance transactions (includes balance transfers) totaling at least $2,000. You are correct. I guess I should have made it a tad more clear! ;) I had already made my $2,000 transfer. Just waiting for the goods. The 3% fee more than eats the $50 but the interest earned by investing the $2,000 over the year more than makes up for it. Also, Ipod is a huge plus! ;)

Edit: Just checked and $50 credit has already been posted. So now $10 for an IPod Nano and Interest free for 12 months (assuming they don't treat the fee as a purchase and charge interest on it as credit card companies sometimes do).

Received the card about 1.5 wks after the online application. Spend $2000+ for the 1st month. About 2 weeks after I received my 1st statement, the $50 credit has been applied to my account. Now, I am just going to wait and see when the Ipod will show up. And, it is still confusing that which Nano will I receive. Hopefully, I will get that by early next year...

Damn BOA automatic payments.

I signed up for automatic payments with this card and set them to minimum payment (since it's zero percent on the balance transfer option). I logged on a few days ago to see a $39.00 late fee charged to my account.

I then went to the automatic payments section and discovered it was still activated. I then found that the payment was scheduled for 12/06/06 (due date) but was automatically cancelled on 11/20/06.

Customer service credited my card back with the $39.00 and could NOT see the automatic payment information from their end. Said that it did not exist...WTF?

Anyway, I asked if this could cause my zero percent to explode since the payment was "technically" missed. She said it could but she would make a note to return it back to zero in that case.

I'm going to manually make the payment on this account from now on. Such a hassle...and still no IPOD! :frown:

so i just received the card a few days ago, gave BofA a call to make sure i'm in on the deal and they said i did not have a ipod rewards code (the guy had seen it before). They did however say I had a code that said "ZUNE".

I guess I'll have to wait and see.....is M$ planning on putting out a smaller zune? Or am i gonna get some crappy accessory/giftcard? Maybe they realized that a brown mp3 player is retarded and are just giving em away : )

btw - phone# 800.331.9750 takes you right thru to a person
