Amazon.com gift certificates can only be redeemed online at the Amazon.com Web site and are not valid on the Amazon.com United Kingdom and Germany Web sites. Certificates will expire within one year of receipt and are none refundable. Only one valid gift certificate will be issued per customer. MGCSI reserves the right to refuse the fulfillment of free Amazon.com gift certificates to contacts when the e-mail address provided does not appear, in the exercise of MGCSI's reasonable discretion, to be the e-mail address of a legitimate Government agency.

(from the site) NOTE the last sentence...

Well, I guess we'll all just have to take our chances on this one...

I personally can tolerate four weeks worth of junk mail to have a chance to get a $10 gift certificate to Amazon (even though they suck).

Good find!

I gave it a shot. We'll see how it works . . . I wonder if an employee of the University of Washington qualifies as a legitimate gov't business? :)

Worth a shot but don't count on this. They are not going to send these to free e-mail accounts or e-mail accounts that don't appear to be government e-mail accounts. aol, @home, hotmail, yahoo etc aren't going to work folks.

Fortunately, I work at a gov't site. Unfortunately, the subscribe button is giving an error right now.

I think it worked for me, I got an email asking to confirm my subscription and then got another saying I would get my gc in a month.

Hmm that sucks. Looks like you have to be affiliated with the Government in some way or another. If I don't get it, no big deal.

Dead Deal...

"Sorry, the THESOURCENEWS2 list is closed. The amazon.com giveaway was a
limited-time promotion for individuals interested in receiving a bimonthly
enewsletter from Micron Government Computer Systems. The promotion was
intended for government customers and the giveaway rules specify that only
individuals with valid government email addresses are eligible for the gift
certificate. It appears that the giveaway was incorrectly and illegaly
linked on a billboard allowing people to reach the subscription page without
reading the info sheet. In addition, the promotion (which has run for three
months) has been ended. If you are still interested in receiving the
enewsletter from Micron Government, go to:
http://thesource.micronpc.com/enews/enewsletteroptin.html If your interest
was in the amazon.com certificate, I am sorry but that promotion has ended.
Thank you for your time and I hope this answers your questions. Let me know
if I can be of further assistance. Sincerely, Gwendolyn Prellwitz Enews
