Panda Software is offering a free one-year subscription to its Platinum 7 antivirus software to IT professionals. It's a good antivirus product, includes a firewall component and you can't beat the price. Link Panda's web site sells this for $69.95.
 
I already got this a couple of days ago and installed it last night - and its working. However, I have been unable to register it via their web site - anyone else having the same problem or was it just their site's issue last night?

I'm having problems getting the form to work, I've been looking to get a new antivirus and this would be perfect, but when I submit the form it gives me some error

Try them now (6:30 PM CDT), as I was just able to register. Just a little surprised that they have yet to respond to my email from last night...

Oh well, its working and so far, it hasn't crashed the system its on!

And, it was F-R-E-E!!!!

I have to assume one but we do have more than one PC...so I will just have to guess later. We have been using Norton since the 1990's and only lately have we been having problems.

Anyone else want to chime in?
 
shnap, it's still not working for me. I'll just keep trying when I remember. Like I said in my original post I've been needing to change my antivirus and I'd rather do this to get a decent program for free then to find other means
 
Is there a good 3rd party site that compares different A/V software? I've been using Norton for years and don't really have any problems with it, but it is a resource hog, and I've heard from others who say that things slip past Norton even with constant updates.

In my opinion, Panda takes up way less resources than Norton and updates multiple times in a day....Norton generally releases updates like once a week.

Hmm, I run a 5-pc home network, does that make me an IT professional? A student otherwise...no office network to install on <g>

I suppose If I like it I'll just start recommending them 😉
 
Been using Panda AV Plat for some time now. Pretty decent AV. Did the free year deal with them as well. For some reason though, it'll forget my user and pass when updating. No big, just re-enter and all is well. Thx.
