And "ground breaking digital format" as well...

I guess I'll put those emags beside the toilet of my Sims avatar.

I have about five issues of this PC mag on my work computer, I just can't make myself read them. It is a good mag, but I have trouble reading anything longer than a few sentences on a computer, it's just not for me. Thank God I got in on the FHM mag.

This thread is also going on at FW, and someone brought up www.yourfreemagazines.com, where it appears that you could get a free subscription to a number of good magazines (e.g. Wired, Sound & Vision, Golf). The site was developed and is run by a company called NextWeb Media. Evidently NextWeb's business is to help direct marketing companies reach a large population, and sites such as yourfreemagazines is an incentive to help draw in a consumer base. Anyone ever sign up for a free subscription under these guys? If so, did you get an annoying amount of junk mail as a result?

You have to then qualify for a credit card then buy something to receive your free subscription.

I have been getting FHM for the last 8 months or so from these guys, as well as PC Mag. They do send some mail, but it not too bad. Also I never had to apply for a credit card, nor was I asked to give them my credit card info. I'd say the small amount of mail from these guys is worth the 1 yr free of FHM :)

It appears the other offers on the yourfreemagazines.com page are also good for a free subscription - ie, sign up for Columbia House, buy something at Half.com for the first time, etc. I've been thinking about getting some DVDs from Columbia House for awhile, so I might try it and see if I can get a Wired subscription to boot.

I got/get FHMs from this scheme, but I haven't gotten mine this month. Could be because I got my January issue before Christmas.

It seems as if the offer's dead. Instead, the site offered me an "electronic" edition of PC Magazine. :frown:

One small doubt. When you click on any of the links under the yourfreemagazines.com required buy system, the page which opens up is not secure. So, if I want to make a secure transaction... how can I go about doing that? I am assuming it is not secure coz the lock symbol simply does not appear!!
