freaking Priority mail just lost my package, what to do?

I distinctively remember someone posted the same thing but I didn't bother to read it, can't believe it came back and haunt me!

Is it one you sent?

If so, I believe procedure is to ask the Post Office to trace it.

yeah, I am the sender....

and I cannot fIND a phone number for the local post office, USPS doesn't post it on its website

You have to call the main 1-800 number. From there they can transfer you to your local office. I believe you actually have to fill out some form (it's been a long time for me - i don't know their latest procedure).

How long has it been? Mail gets lost or hopefully just misdirected.

I'm having the same problem...idiots lost a whole mobo/cpu combo i sent out...I talked directly to the postmaster and they didnt say they could trace it or anything, all she saw was what was on the site when you go to track it...so now I have to claim for insurance, but the person who the package was going to keeps sending me letters stating that they didnt get it(required to claim for insurance) and they all keep getting lost...mail doesnt like to travel between my house and his...except for the money order he origonaly sent...I dont get it.

I tried that 1800 USPS something something something, but it didn't quite transfer me,
I tracked it, and it said it was delivered to destination since Nov 2.
urr..
