Freaking piece of crap telephone...

Ok, so I just got this new telephone and it has call waiting and caller id on it. Well I don't have caller id right now but am planning on getting it within the next couple of months. So I am reading the instructions on how to set the date and time, but it just says that it will set it automatically the first time you receive an incoming caller id call, and there are no other instructions about how to set the date/time. The phone is a Southwestern Bell Freedom Phone, GH3010AT. So you guys think I'm out of luck? This really sucks.

Why in the world did you buy a Bell-branded phone? They are the biggest POS ripoffs in the world!! Only old fogeys buy a phone from the phone company!!! They do it b/c "the phone company will know how to fix it if it breaks." At least that's what my Aunt Mary Louise says.

3. Plug your phone into UPS and friend's phone line.
3. Call friend's house from your cell phone.
4. Take your phone and UPS home as fast as possible.
