alright, how is everyone doing tonight? Well, Ive will start this off by saying that I have tried my best to get a real response from ATI without using thier pay by min. phone line. Nothing, just automated crap. I have sifted through alot of their FAQs and Hardware stuff looking for a fix and I havent found anything that has helped.

So, I had the Catalyst 4.3 drivers installed, then I downloaded 4.4 and uninstalled 4.3, everything went pretty smooth, I restarted then I tried to install 4.4, ok, doing good.

Alright, so it extracts the files it needs, then it loads Install Shield, BAM!! right after install shields loading is done I get hit with three errors in a row:

Internal Failure
Error Number: 0x80040707
Description

Okay, I get that one twice in a row and then I get:

Unable to load ATICIM.dll

now, at this point Im like ($%$ing @ss &$&%& &%$&s) dont ask me to translate it (lets just say, my kids were asleep so I went all out). Now after I click okay on the last error, the Driver installation guide loads up, the cancel button doesnt work but the next button does, so I go to the license agreement. Its blank.

I can only Agree. So I do so. Now Im on a screen that has two options (besides last and cancel which dont work) Express Install & Custom Install. Its easy though, they both do the same thing. Close the Window and nothing else.

At this point Im upset (because If changed this and changed that and tried this about 50 times now). So when I open of Task Manager and look at the Applications running, there isnt any, but if I look at processes there are at least 1 maybe 2 that are for the ATI Driver Install. So I wait and Wait and nothing happens, I try again and again and nothing happens. When I shut down Windows asks me to end task, it says the task is called "you shouldnt see me"

thats the end of my story. Any help on this?

yeah, it's developer stuff, nothing to worry about.

Here's what you do. Go into Safe mode, use the AtiCimUninst or whatever that app is called to make sure everything is GONE. Then re-download the catalysts (they might have gotten corrupted), boot into normal mode (make sure you're not overclocked), CANCEL OUT of whatever driver installation windows it pops up, and try running Setup again.
